Dates: Wednesday, August 13 – Friday, August 15
Location: Eagle Crest Golf Course, Ypsilanti, MI
Format: 54-Hole Stroke Play, at Eagle Crest Golf Course, Following 36 holes of play, the field will be reduced to the low 60% scores plus ties. In the event of a tie for first place upon the completion of play, there will be a hole-by-hole sudden death playoff beginning on a hole(s) determined by the rules committee prior to the opening round.
Tournament Overview
Join us at the first Great Lakes Amateur, a premier 54-hole stroke play competition held over three days. The event will feature 18 holes per day, with a cut to the low 60% and ties of the field after 36 holes or within 10 shots of the lead. This tournament is open to any amateurs male or female, providing an active USGA Handicap Index of 6.0 or lower at the time of entry to be eligible.

•Wednesday, August 13 – Round 1 (18 Holes) 7:00 AM - 9:27 AM 1st and 10th tee
•Thursday, August 14 – Round 2 (18 Holes) 7:00 AM - 9:27 AM 1st and 10th tee
•Cut to the low 50% of the field•Friday, August 15 – Final Round (18 Holes) 7:00 AM - 9:27 AM 1st tee
•Remaining players compete for the championshipEntry Requirements•Amateurs: Must have an active USGA Handicap Index of 6.0 or lower at the time of entry.

•Carts & Caddies: There will be a maximum of two (2) carts per group. A designated caddy may ride with the participant(s) if space permits. Participants will also have the option of walking with a caddy as well. Participants MAY carry their own bag or use a push / pull cart.

Distance Measuring Devices: a player may obtain distance information by use of a distance-measuring device. If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g., elevation changes, wind speed, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3
Inclement Weather Release: The participants assume the risk of injury and casualty that may be caused by inclement weather and release the Michigan Players Amateur and it's affiliates from any liability related there to
Course Details: Several holes border the banks of Ford Lake, offering beautiful views throughout your round. Those include the course’s signature hole, the par-5 16th, which runs along the lake and has a peninsular green. The hole was recently cited by USA Today as one of Detroit’s “Dream 18-Most Memorable Holes.” Eagle Crest Golf Club is an excellent value, where you can enjoy golf, food, and drink in a grand setting that continues to receive Golf Digest Magazine’s Four-Star “Best Places To Play” rating. Eagle Crest, owned and operated by Eastern Michigan University, is the home course of EMU’s women’s and men’s golf teams. It features an 18-hole layout measuring 7186 yards 75.1 rating with distinctive holes, stunning views of Ford Lake, and an extensive practice facility consisting of a three-tier driving range, a short game area with a pitching/chipping green, and two practice putting greens.In a recent article, Free Press reporter Carlos Monarrez said, “what makes this (Eagle Crest) an outstanding course is the marriage between challenge and beauty that comes in the form of natural adornment.”
